Holly Hunter (born Holly Hunter) is a famous American actor and producer. She has gained recognition for her exceptional performance in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. The actress has received several awards for her work, including an Oscar. The successful actress began her career as an actor by performing on stage, by performing in a myriad of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. Since her school days she played Helen Keller in a play during the 5th grade. Mumps made her lose hearing in one her ear, however this was not enough to stop the actress from fulfilling her dream. As a young woman she was a drama student in the college level and then moved to New York City from Pittsburgh in order to achieve her goals. Through a random encounter, she got stuck in an elevator with writer Beth Henley and the two worked together on the play 'The Broadway Crimes of the Heart that made Hunter's debut. After she was settled in Los Angeles, she began looking for roles in films. She landed one as an actress supporting the main character in Swing Shift. Since then she has appeared in a variety of television series and movies over a career spanning more than three decades. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and also the Women in Film Lucy Award.
